Hic Sunt Leones Gym
Conceived to become a new point of reference for the bodybuilding world in Cesena, the Hic Sunt Leones gym was born from the vision of a former world champion, today an icon in the sector. The project develops within a former industrial shed, previously used for metallurgical activities, and is based on the idea of offering an exclusive, highly professional, and customized training experience.
The intervention involved a deep renovation of the internal spaces, structuring the layout into two main functional areas: the street-front area, intended for reception, offices, and showroom, and the rear area, which hosts the weight room and related services. The client’s objective was to create spaces designed for a limited number of users, ensuring high-quality service and comprehensive support, covering both training and nutritional aspects.
The design focused on the functionality of spaces and their perceptual impact, through a targeted selection of finishes and materials capable of stimulating user concentration and determination during training sessions. The result is a technical, essential, and motivating environment, where the original industrial aesthetic has been enhanced and reinterpreted.
A distinctive element of the weight room is the original overhead cranes, left suspended from the ceiling as witnesses to the previous productive function of the shed. These were integrated into the architectural project and converted into support structures for the lighting system, becoming an active part of the new visual language of the space.
Hic Sunt Leones is configured as a place dedicated to training excellence, where architecture and functionality meet to create a unique environment, reflecting the identity and vision of its founder.
