Author’s Villa on the Hill

Immersed in the Cesena hilly landscape, with a view that extends to the sea, this historic farmhouse represents a precious example of rural architecture, protected to be preserved and enhanced. The project stems from the client’s need to give new life to the property, with large, functional spaces in constant dialogue with the surrounding nature, without giving up the authentic character of the residence.
The intervention, carried out under Superbonus for seismic and eco measures, focused on the recovery and enhancement of the original valuable elements: the entrance staircase and balconies were maintained and restored, becoming one of the distinctive elements of the project, while the external walls were cleaned and preserved to maintain the authenticity and historic charm of the building.
The internal spaces, made particularly bright by the presence of numerous windows distributed on all sides of the building, enjoy a continuous relationship with the external landscape, accentuated by design choices oriented towards maximum visual openness.
The insertion of contemporary components – from technical lighting to light-toned finishes, and textured surface claddings – was designed to harmoniously integrate modernity with the original architectural language, contributing to create essential, luminous spaces with a strong aesthetic impact.
From a structural point of view, interventions were made to consolidate the floors and restore the load-bearing walls with precision, using the traditional “stitch-unpick” technique, capable of ensuring stability and durability over time without altering the historical integrity of the building.
Minimalism, respect for architectural memory, and attention to detail: this project represents a significant example of conscious renovation, capable of combining historical identity with contemporary comfort.
